The BMW E36 is the third generation of the BMW 3 Series range of compact executive cars, and was produced from 1990 to 2000. The initial models were of the four-door sedan body style, followed by the coupe, convertible, wagon and hatchback. The E36 was the first 3-Series to be offered in a hatchback bodystyle. It was also the first 3-Series to be available with a six-speed manual transmission, a five-speed automatic transmission and a four-cylinder diesel engine. The multi-link rear suspension was also a significant upgrade, as compared to the previous generations of the 3-Series. The high performance E36 M3 is powered by the BMW S50 or BMW S52 straight-six engine.

BMW E36 VERT: Pro-Am Drift Build – Part 9

Today we are joined by Brandon and Chris from the E36 Mafia drift team, who spent a solid hour trying to teach me how to weld. Aside from setting the strut tower on fire, everything went pretty well. Considering this is only the third time I have ever welded in my life, I am very happy with how the front strut reinforcement plate come together. What I am not happy with, is the sound quality and motion tracking of the 360 video camera. Oh well, racecar is racecar. Stay tuned for more videos!

Porsche 944 Rally Build – Rear Suspension – Part 3

The rear suspension on the Porsche 944 is an aluminum trailing arm with a torsion bar and gas shock. If you try to off-road with this, you will snap the torsion bar, blow out the shock, and destroy your CV axles. This video series will guide you through the process of upgrading your rear suspension into an off-road racing beast.
