The LS based small-block engine is the primary V-8 used in General Motors’ line of rear-wheel-drive cars and trucks. Introduced in January 1995, it is a “clean sheet” design with only rod bearings, lifters, and bore spacing in common with the longstanding Chevrolet small block V8 that preceded it as the basis for GM small-block V8s. My rally roll cage was built by one of the best FIA-spec cage builders in the business. However, after installing my seat, in the exact same position the builder used, my helmet hits the roll bar padding. And it doesn’t lightly hit, it interferes; there is at least a 1/2″ overlap. I have no idea what to do! Any suggestions you have are very much welcome! Please help!
