Working 1/2 Scale Model FA20 Engine

This working scale model of a Subaru Boxer engine was entirely 3d-printed, except for the electrical parts and chain. The base, control panel and battery box were printed with ABS, the rotating assembly and nameplate were printed with PLA, the gears were printed with 4500psi Nylon, and the chain tensioner and bushings were printed with TPU. The rotating assembly was designed in Blender, the base was designed in Autodesk Fusion, and the components were prepared by Slic3r and then printed with a Prusa MK2S 3d printer. I used a 60rpm gearbox-motor assembly to drive the #41 chain, running off a PWM controller at 12 volts. Everything was printed in-house, taking almost a month to print and assemble. The CAD design itself took almost 3 months to complete, start to finish.
