Speed Freak Garage, LLC was founded by James “Professor” Smoot, son of the midwest’s infamous “Fantasy” Jim Smoot, who owned and operated the Fantasy Coachworks corporation from 1975 until 2008. James was raised in a high-octane world, where he grew to love custom cars, and in June of 2007, started his own horsepower-fueled adventure: PowerSports. James then attended UMR, one of the USA’s finest engineering schools, and graduated with a B.S. in Engineering Management, maintaining a strong focus on Mechanical Engineering, and achieving the title of Associate Engineering Manager (ASEM). He also participated in the Miner Baja (SAE) off-road racing team, where he assisted in the development of a dune buggy tasked with competing in a multi-national off-road endurance competition. James is currently working full-time as a Quality Engineer in the automotive industry, where he is continuing to hone his broad MechE skill-set. In his free time, he modifies and races any vehicle that he can get his hands on.

Using more than two generation’s worth of experience in the automotive and engineering industry, Speed Freak Garage combines the best of both worlds: horsepower & reliability. Are all of our products are designed to meet & exceed the highest quality standards, while our instructional guides & videos are given an obscene amount of detail.

Speed Freak Garage stands behind every one of our products with a “Lifetime Craftsmanship Guarantee”; if the product is defective, or in any way fails to meet expectations, you can send it back for a full refund. Further, we will never make grandiose claims about our products, and we will never pretend to be the best; in fact, we will always advertise and operate with the utmost honesty and respect for our fellow auto enthusiasts. Every one of our products goes through a hands-on quality control inspection, and is then shipped with that QC checklist and a personal signature from the quality technician. If it isn’t a product that we’d be proud to use on our cars, you can be sure that it will never reach your garage.
